AI in education: from a tool to a new space of interaction

At the master class on 07/19/2026, dedicated to the use of artificial intelligence in education and eco-facilitation, we quickly went beyond the usual conversation about useful programs and new technical capabilities.

Another question became the main one: What happens to a person, a profession, and the interaction process itself when AI becomes its permanent participant? Today, artificial intelligence can be not only a source of information. It is able to act as an interlocutor, a trainer, a conditional client, a consultant, a supervisor, an external memory, and a means of professional reflection.

The workshop featured a live demonstration of an AI eco-facilitation session. It was based on a real-life query related to a person's experiences after another difficult night in Kyiv: exhaustion, a feeling of lack of strength, and the conflict between one's own pain and the need to continue helping others.
The session was not perfect – and that is why it turned out to be especially useful. At first, the AI moved too quickly to the questions and tried to direct the conversation without lingering in the space of experience. We stopped the process, pointed out the error and suggested that it restructure its work. The AI accepted the feedback and began to more accurately reflect the internal contradiction: «I am a person who is in pain, and at the same time a psychologist who should help.».
In the end, an important formula emerged: when I feel bad, it does not always mean that I do not have the resources. This conclusion was not ready-made advice received from a machine. It arose in the common space of interaction between a person, AI, a group, a professional method and a life context. We call such a space HUMAI - a hybrid environment of interaction between human and artificial intelligence. In it, the result no longer always belongs to one participant: it is born between them.

But the master class also showed its limitations. AI can rush, agree too easily, offer a good solution prematurely, and create the illusion of understanding. Therefore, professionalism does not consist in unconditionally following its recommendations, but in the ability to notice mistakes, correct the process, and remain responsible. Issues of confidentiality, ethical boundaries, and the difference between educational simulation and real psychological help are especially important.

“It is not about replacing humans with artificial intelligence. AI can enhance memory, reflection, modeling, and self-supervision. Humans retain what cannot be transferred to machines: responsibility, bodily presence, ethical decision-making, and the ability to be a true Other. Therefore, today it is important to ask not only: «What can AI do?» but also: «What do we become when we start acting together with it?» (c) Pavlo Lushin
